Baseball Game Preview: Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe Warriors vs. Trion Bulldogs

The Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe Warriors will face off against the Trion Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe has given up an average of 12.3 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe's offense. They came up short against Ridgeland on Wednesday, falling 15-0. The Warriors' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Meanwhile, while Trion put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Coahulla Creek. Trion blew past Coahulla Creek 12-0. Considering the Bulldogs have won four matchups by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Trion has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe's loss dropped their record down to 1-8.

Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe came up short against Trion in their previous matchup back in March of 2017, falling 9-4. Can Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
