Soccer Game Preview: Twentynine Palms vs. Banning

The Twentynine Palms Wildcats and the Banning Broncos will compete for holiday cheer at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Twentynine Palms is looking to tack another W on to their season record, something they couldn't quite do against Desert Christian Academy on Monday. Neither Twentynine Palms nor Desert Christian Academy could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw.

Meanwhile, Banning fell victim to San Gorgonio and their airtight defense on Saturday. They came up short against the Spartans, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, the Broncos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 646th, while the Spartans are ranked 135th).

This is the second loss in a row for Banning and nudges their season record down to 2-5. With that draw, Twentynine Palms' record moves to 2-2-1.
