Soccer Game Preview: Cordova vs. McClatchy

The Cordova Lancers will challenge the McClatchy Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Cordova is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game back in December of 2024. They were one goals away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of El Camino.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for McClatchy's offense. They lost 3-0 to Pleasant Grove on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 205th, while the Eagles are ranked 83rd).

McClatchy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-3-1 record this season. As for Cordova, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
