Football Recap: Bishop Carroll Takes a Loss

If Bishop Carroll was feeling good fresh off their 33-6 takedown of Southeast last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Golden Eagles lost 38-14 to the Bishop McGuinness Fighting Irish on Friday. The Golden Eagles lost against the Fighting Irish in their previous head to head back in September of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 49-0 score last time.

Jonah Mull threw for 30 yards on six of 11 attempts. On the ground, John Corrigan rushed for 27 yards.

Among those leading the charge was Gage Chance, who threw for 238 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also punched in one rushing score.

Bishop Carroll now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Bishop McGuinness, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Coming up, Bishop Carroll will look to defend their home field on Friday against South. As for Bishop McGuinness, they will head out to face off against Classen SAS at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The game will give the Fighting Irish their first taste of in-conference action this season.
