The Veritas Academy Monarch's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They took a 43-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mount Calvary Christian. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Veritas Academy in their matchups with Mount Calvary Christian: they've now lost four in a row.

Leading Mount Calvary Christian to victory were Kayley Barnes and Audrey Gash. Barnes scored eight points along with five rebounds and five steals, while Gash scored seven points along with three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylie Masters, who scored eight points along with three steals.

Veritas Academy's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Mount Calvary Christian, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 11-3.

Veritas Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Christian School of York at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. Mount Calvary Christian won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Harrisburg Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Harrisburg Christian is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
