After a string of three wins, St. Andrew's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They came up short against the South Effingham Mustangs, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 back in August.

While St. Andrew's ultimately came up short, they really made South Effingham work, particularly in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-15, 25-23.

St. Andrew's offense was headlined by Sara Carr MacDonald and Ryan McGee, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Grace Dare and her 24 assists. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

St. Andrew's defeat dropped their record down to 11-10. As for South Effingham, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-8 record this season.

St. Andrew's will head out to square off against Long County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for South Effingham, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Statesboro on the 6th.
