Volleyball Recap: East Jackson Falls Short of Franklin County in the Playoffs

East Jackson and Franklin County squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but East Jackson had to settle for second. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in September.

East Jackson started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 25-11, 25-15, 25-15.

Julia Zeliski paced East Jackson's offense, picking up five kills. Zeliski really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with 14.

East Jackson has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-27 record this season. As for Franklin County, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-14 record this season.

East Jackson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Franklin County, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Pierce County on the 18th.
