Preview: North Penn-Mansfield Tigers vs. Cowanesque Valley Indians
North Penn-Mansfield is 9-1 against Cowanesque Valley since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The North Penn-Mansfield Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Cowanesque Valley Indians at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully North Penn-Mansfield focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Saturday.
On Saturday, North Penn-Mansfield earned a 31-23 victory over Northern Potter. The win made it back-to-back wins for North Penn-Mansfield.
North Penn-Mansfield's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from McKenna Lightner, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds. Those 11 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Kameron Lightner, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Cowanesque Valley's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 37-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of North Penn-Liberty. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Cowanesque Valley in their matchups with North Penn-Liberty: they've now lost seven in a row.
North Penn-Mansfield has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. As for Cowanesque Valley, their defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-3.
North Penn-Mansfield didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Cowanesque Valley in their previous matchup last Saturday, but they still walked away with a 33-29 victory.
