Basketball Recap: Kings Christian Comes Up Short

Kings Christian entered their contest against Laton on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Kings Christian Crusaders took a hard 31-14 fall against the Laton Mustangs. The Crusaders were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Mustangs earlier this season, when they won 20-18.

Katie Sparks was Kings Christian's leading scorer, having posted five points.

Among those leading the charge was Gabriella Alvarado, who went 5-for-12 en route to 13 points along with seven boards and three steals. She has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Heffley, who posted ten points and eight rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Kings Christian and nudges their season record down to 7-9. Sadly, the team can't blame their woes on tough opposition, as that stretch included 5-12 Alpaugh and 7-14 Laton. As for Laton, their victory bumped their record up to 7-14.

Kings Christian has already played their next matchup, a 51-24 defeat against Wonderful College Prep Academy on the 7th. As for Laton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 35-27 loss against Alpaugh on the 5th.
