Baseball Recap: Dunkirk Find Success

Dunkirk was handed a 12-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Saturday. They skirted past the Allegany-Limestone Gators 8-6. The Marauders haven't had any issues with the Gators recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Anthony Cosme and Anthony Piede did most of the damage at the plate: Cosme went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Piede went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one double, and one RBI. Those two runs gave Cosme a new career-high.

Dunkirk's victory bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Allegany-Limestone, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-3.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Dunkirk beat the Gators by a score of 9-2 on Tuesday.
