Basketball Game Preview: Hempfield Black Knights vs. Red Lion Lions

Hempfield hasn't had much luck against Red Lion recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Hempfield Black Knights will look to defend their home court against the Red Lion Lions at 7:30 p.m.

Hempfield will face Red Lion after dropping another heartbreaker against Penn Manor last Thursday, which marked the second time in a row the team's come within 3.1 of beating them. Hempfield might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Penn Manor an easy 60-40 victory.

Meanwhile, Red Lion put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They wrapped up 2024 with a 39-24 win over Manheim Township. The 39-point effort marked the Lions' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Red Lion's victory bumped their record up to 10-0. As for Hempfield, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Hempfield lost to Red Lion at home by a decisive 65-50 margin in their previous meeting back in January. Can Hempfield avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
