Soccer Game Preview: Saint Joseph vs. Bishop Amat

The Saint Joseph Jesters will challenge the Bishop Amat Lancers on Tuesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Bishop Amat will be up against a hot Saint Joseph team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Saint Joseph never let La Salle onto the board and left with a 1-0 victory on Saturday. Given the Jesters' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 39th, while the Lancers are ranked 380th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Bishop Amat hasn't lost a match since January 9th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Saturday. Neither they nor La Serna could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw.

Saint Joseph has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-1-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those seven contests. Bishop Amat's draw gives them a new season record of 12-6-4.
