It was a proper cat-fight when Lyons challenged Sterling on Tuesday. The Lions were the clear victors by a 14-3 margin over the Tigers. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by eight runs or more this season.
Gretta Wynja made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in September.
In other batting news, Dahlia Oviatt was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three doubles. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Leora Hagan, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
