Basketball Recap: California Academy of Math & Science Comes Up Short

California Academy of Math & Science was the 31-30 winner over Hawthorne Math & Science Academy when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The California Academy of Math & Science Coyotes lost to the Hawthorne Math & Science Academy The Aviators on the road by a 44-30 margin on Thursday. The Coyotes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hawthorne Math & Science Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jocelyn Perez, who posted 13 points. Another player making a difference was Chidera Muogboh, who scored 11 points.

California Academy of Math & Science's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Hawthorne Math & Science Academy, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-1.

California Academy of Math & Science will face off against Rancho Dominguez at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hawthorne Math & Science Academy, they will host Geffen Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
