Basketball Game Preview: Bernstein Dragons vs. Mendez Jaguars

Bernstein and Mendez are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2019, but not for long. The Bernstein Dragons will challenge the Mendez Jaguars at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Bernstein came up short against Narbonne on Saturday, falling 52-26. The Dragons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Merlyn Quevedo-Hernandez, who posted eight points.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mendez). They claimed a resounding 57-18 win over Belmont. The victory was nothing new for the Jaguars as they're now sitting on three straight.

Bernstein's defeat dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Mendez, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Bernstein strolled past Mendez when the teams last played back in December of 2024 by a score of 50-33. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bernstein since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
