Basketball Recap: Brantley County Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Brantley County extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping them down to 1-4. They lost 63-39 to the Wayne County Yellow Jackets. The Herons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-15.

As for Wayne County, their record is now 4-1. They not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since December 13, 2024 (when they won 70-46).

Wayne County got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Gavin Hilton out in front who shot 45% from the field to rack up 14 points and four steals. Those four steals gave Hilton a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dwayne Smith, who went 6-for-7 en route to 15 points along with five rebounds and five steals.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Brantley County will square off against Charlton County at 7:30 p.m. on the 12th. As for Wayne County, they will challenge Berrien at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
