Passers beware: Jaxiel Rivera came down with his first-ever interception on Friday and he's no doubt on the hunt for more. He also picked up 37 receiving yards and one touchdown as Southington fell to New Britain 42-14. We hope Rivera's good performance is the first of many we'll see posted here on MaxPreps.com.

Rivera and Southington will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Manchester at 6:00 p.m. on the 24th. The Blue Knights are 7-1 against the Red Hawks going back to September of 2015, a lead they'll look to extend.
