Preview: Chartiers-Houston Buccaneers vs. Bethlehem Center Bulldogs
Chartiers-Houston has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Bethlehem Center Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Chartiers-Houston focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Thursday.
Chartiers-Houston scored the most points they've had all season to find success. They were the clear victor by a 65-44 margin over California. Chartiers-Houston has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 21 points or more this season.
Chartiers-Houston's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ella Richey, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Richey has scored all season. Ava Capozzoli was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with five assists and three steals.
Meanwhile, Bethlehem Center came up short against Monessen on Saturday and fell 37-27. It was the first time this season that Bethlehem Center let down their fans at home.
Chartiers-Houston is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Bethlehem Center, they now have a losing record at 6-7.
Chartiers-Houston didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Bethlehem Center when the teams last played back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 46-41 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Chartiers-Houston since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
