Soccer Game Preview: Oak Grove vs. James Lick

Oak Grove and James Lick are an even 4-4-2 against one another since January of 2019, but likely not for long. The Oak Grove Eagles will venture away from home to face off against the James Lick Comets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Oak Grove will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Oak Grove is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. Their defense stepped up to hand Del Mar an 8-0 shutout on Thursday. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by three goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, James Lick sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 victory over San Jose on Thursday.

Oak Grove has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-1-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 34 goals over those nine contests. As for James Lick, their win bumped their record up to 8-5-1.

Oak Grove beat James Lick by a goal when the teams last played back in January, winning 5-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for Oak Grove since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
