Soccer Game Preview: Savannah Arts Academy vs. Appling County

Appling County will be up against a hot Savannah Arts Academy team: the squad just extended their winning streak to five. Savannah Arts Academy walked away with a 4-2 win over Savannah Christian on Tuesday. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while the Raiders are ranked 279th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite a strong season so far, Appling County has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of Jeff Davis. That's two games in a row now that the Pirates have lost by just one goal.

Savannah Arts Academy's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored ten goals over those three matchups. As for Appling County, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.
