The Pius X Thunderbolts will venture away from home to  square off against the Skutt Catholic SkyHawks  at 6:00  p.m.  on Monday.
Pius X fell victim to Millard North and their airtight pitching crew  on Saturday. They came up short against  the Mustangs, falling  6-0. The Thunderbolts haven't had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
 Pius X saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Kendal Heimes, who  went 2-for-4 with one  double.
Meanwhile, Skutt Catholic came tearing into  Saturday's  game with eight straight wins  (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Wolverines with a sharp  15-7 victory. Considering the SkyHawks have won 17 matchups by more than five  runs this season, Saturday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Isa Torrez looked comfortable as she  pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off   two  hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in 16 consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side,  Maddie Schmaderer was  excellent,  firing off two  home runs, four  RBI,  and one  double while going 3-for-4. Those  two  home runs gave  her a new career-high.  Leyton Michaelis was another key player,  going 3-for-4 with one  home run, two  runs,  and one  double.
 Skutt Catholic  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .611. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Westview only posted  an  OBP of  .462.
 Pius X's defeat dropped their record down to 12-16. As for Skutt Catholic, their record is now 22-5.
 Pius X skirted past Skutt Catholic  3-1 in their previous meeting  back in October of 2024. Do  the Thunderbolts have another victory up their sleeve, or will the SkyHawks turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
