Football Recap: Pojoaque Valley Comes Up Short

Pojoaque Valley lost against Hope Christian back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Elks/Elkettes and the Huskies were almost perfectly matched up, but the Elks/Elkettes suffered a 21-20 defeat. Despite 120 more yards than the Huskies, the Elks/Elkettes couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Even if they lost, Pojoaque Valley's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Joshua Gonzales, Roman Gonzales, and Jaziah Romero, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Pojoaque Valley's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Hope Christian, their record now sits at 6-2.

Pojoaque Valley didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 52-0 victory against Santa Fe Indian on the 17th. As for Hope Christian, they have also already played their next matchup, a 9-7 defeat against Robertson on the 18th.
