Soccer Game Preview: Scholars Guild Academy vs. Skipstone Academy

The Scholars Guild Academy Spartans are taking a road trip to challenge the Skipstone Academy Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Scholars Guild Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.5 goals per game this season.

Scholars Guild Academy is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Milledgeville Athletic Club just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Bears by a score of 3-2. While losing is never fun, Scholars Guild Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 227th, while Milledgeville Athletic Club are ranked 98th).

Isaac Daniels and Henry Ferguson scored both of Scholars Guild Academy's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 17 goals.

Meanwhile, Skipstone Academy's game last Thursday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of Rock Springs Christian Academy by a score of 1-0.

Skipstone Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Scholars Guild Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.

Everything went Scholars Guild Academy's way against Skipstone Academy in their previous meeting back in March, as Scholars Guild Academy made off with a 10-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
