Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Madison Romanovich and Cj Sabo Lead Slippery Rock to Victory

Slippery Rock lost to Grove City back in February of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Slippery Rock Rockets managed a 50-44 victory over the Grove City Eagles.

Leading Slippery Rock to victory were Cj Sabo and Madison Romanovich. Sabo went 9 for 17 on her way to 20 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals, while Romanovich posted 19 points along with five boards and four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Sabo has scored at least a third of Slippery Rock's points. Brielle Jordan was another key player, putting up seven points.

Slippery Rock's record is now 11-5. As for Grove City, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-6 record.

Slippery Rock has already played their next contest, a 37-31 win against Greenville on the 27th. As for Grove City, they will square off against Hickory at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hickory will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Grove City surely won't give up without a fight.
