Softball Recap: Bixby Sets Scoring Season-High Against Muskogee

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bixby). They were the clear victors by an 18-7 margin over the Muskogee Roughers on Saturday. The victory continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Roughers: they've now won nine in a row.

Bixby let Teagan Standley and Emme Friedrichsen run wild. Standley went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs, while Friedrichsen got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one double. That home run was Standley's first of the season. Kenzie Howard was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.

Bixby always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Bixby's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Muskogee, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-6.

Coming up, Bixby will host Norman North at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Muskogee, they will take on Tahlequah at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
