Basketball Game Preview: Coastal Academy Stingrays vs. Foothills Christian Knights

The Coastal Academy Stingrays will square off against the Foothills Christian Knights at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Foothills Christian will be up against a hot Coastal Academy squad: the team just extended their winning streak to six. Coastal Academy simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Bonsall 38-11. That 27 point margin sets a new team best for the Stingrays this season.

Coastal Academy can attribute much of their success to Heiress Afalava, who posted seven points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Afalava has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of London Afalava, who had nine points.

Meanwhile, Foothills Christian made easy work of Guajome Park Academy on Friday and carried off a 36-14 win. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 20 points or more this season.

Coastal Academy pushed their record up to 11-5 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.0 points per game. As for Foothills Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Coastal Academy ended up a good deal behind Foothills Christian in their previous meeting back in January, losing 37-23. Can Coastal Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
