Soccer Game Preview: Rio Grande vs. Atrisco Heritage Academy

The Rio Grande Ravens are taking a road trip to take on the Atrisco Heritage Academy Jaguars at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Atrisco Heritage Academy took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Rio Grande, who comes in off a win.

Rio Grande barely beat West Mesa the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Ravens never let the Mustangs get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory on Wednesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for Rio Grande as it put an end to their four-match losing streak.

Aracely Gallegos and Dorthy Padilla scored all three of Rio Grande's goals, bringing their combined season tally to eight goals.

Meanwhile, after soaring to five goals the game before, Atrisco Heritage Academy was a bit more limited in their matchup on Wednesday. They lost 3-0 to Albuquerque. The contest was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly Atrisco Heritage Academy struggled afterwards.

Rio Grande's victory bumped their record up to 4-13. As for Atrisco Heritage Academy, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

Rio Grande might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Atrisco Heritage Academy when the teams last played two weeks ago. Can the Ravens avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
