Basketball Recap: Cailin Schroeder Key Part of a Team Effort in C-Hawks Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against United Christian Academy, California Lutheran was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top against the La Sierra Academy Knights by a score of 26-19. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 28-25 on January 14th.

California Lutheran's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cailin Schroeder, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Schroeder has scored at least a third of California Lutheran's points. Another player making a difference was Redeemed Ebulu, who posted eight points and three steals.

California Lutheran's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-11. As for La Sierra Academy, they are on an 18-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

When California Lutheran and La Sierra Academy next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. California Lutheran will square off against California School for the Deaf-Riverside and their five-game winning streak at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, La Sierra Academy will try to stop United Christian Academy's eight-game winning streak when the meet at 6:15 p.m. on Monday.
