Recap: Crawford Colts vs. High Tech SD Storm

The Crawford Colts's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 56-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of High Tech SD. Crawford found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and post nine fewer assists than your opponent.

Crawford lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Samitioata Fidow, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Fatuma Abdi was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.

Vivianna Cravens was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 23 points and ten steals for High Tech SD. Cravens is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylei Hayward, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals.

Crawford has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-13 record this season. As for High Tech SD, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crawford won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Sweetwater at 4:30 p.m. on January 27th. Sweetwater is on a three-game streak of home losses, Crawford a six-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. As for High Tech SD, they will head out on the road to take on Canyon Hills at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
