Soccer Game Preview: Clovis East vs. Liberty

The Clovis East Timberwolves will take on the Liberty Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Clovis East is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.

Clovis East is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They won by a goal and slipped past Bullard 2-1. That's two games straight that the Timberwolves have won by just one goal.

Gianna Vera and Mckarah Lopez scored both of Clovis East's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 20 goals.

Meanwhile, Liberty hasn't lost a match since December 21, 2024, a trend which continued in their latest game on Saturday. They never let Atascadero onto the board and left with a 4-0 win. Considering the Patriots have won nine matchups by more than two goals this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Liberty pushed their record up to 17-1 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 38 goals over those ten games. As for Clovis East, their win bumped their record up to 10-5.

Clovis East might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Liberty in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Can Clovis East avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
