Recap: Los Amigos Lobos vs. Loara Saxons
After flying high against the Rancho Alamitos Vaqueros last Wednesday, the Los Amigos Lobos came back down to earth. Los Amigos suffered a rough 52-31 loss at the hands of Loara on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Los Amigos has suffered since December 5, 2023.
Los Amigos' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sophia Boyer, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Madeleine Nguyen, who scored 11 points along with four steals.
Angela Ngo was her usual excellent self, scoring 18 points along with eight steals and five rebounds for Loara. Ngo is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games she's played. Sophia Rangel was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight rebounds and five steals.
Los Amigos has been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Loara, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-8.
Los Amigos will be playing in front of their home fans against Bolsa Grande at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Bolsa Grande has now lost 13 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 24. As for Loara, they will head out on the road to challenge Santiago at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
