Soccer Game Preview: LaFayette vs. Madison Academy

The LaFayette Ramblers will square off against the Madison Academy Mustangs at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. LaFayette's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

LaFayette managed to keep up with Gilmer until halftime on Thursday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Ramblers came up short against the Bobcats, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, LaFayette can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 388th, while Gilmer are ranked 118th).

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last contest, Madison Academy made sure to put some goals up on the board against Elkmont on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Red Devils with a sharp 5-1 win. Madison Academy haven't had any issues with Elkmont recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Madison Academy's offense was hitting Elkmont from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal.

Madison Academy's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 8-3. As for LaFayette, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.
