Preview: Riverview Raiders vs. Apollo Ridge Vikings
The Riverview Raiders will be home for the holidays to greet the Apollo Ridge Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Apollo Ridge took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Riverview, who comes in off a win.
Last Monday, Riverview was fully in charge, breezing past Springdale 61-15 at home. The victory was just what Riverview needed coming off of a 63-34 defeat in their prior contest.
Riverview relied on the efforts of Lola Abraham, who scored ten points along with six assists and four steals, and Katerina Tsambis, who scored 19 points. The game was Abraham's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Bauer, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Apollo Ridge had to suffer through a rough 51-8 loss at the hands of St. Joseph. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Apollo Ridge has scored all season.
Riverview's win ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-1. As for Apollo Ridge, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.
