Basketball Recap: Livermore Comes Up Short

Livermore was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a blow against the San Ramon Valley Wolves, falling 75-15. While losing is never fun, the Cowboys can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 819th, while the Wolves are ranked 15th).

Livermore's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sofia Mahmood, who posted nine points.

Livermore's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for San Ramon Valley, their victory was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-2.

Livermore will take on Newark Memorial at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for San Ramon Valley, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-52 defeat against Pinewood on the 18th.
