Baseball Recap: Union County Find Success

Union County got themselves on the board against Tri on Tuesday, but Tri never followed suit. They came out on top against the Titans by a score of 3-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Patriots also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2025.

The team relied heavily on Colton Johnson, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Union County is 2-1 when Johnson posts two or more stolen bases, but 9-10 otherwise. Cam Salsbery was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

The win got Union County back to even at 11-11. As for Tri, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Union County will square off against Centerville at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Patriots' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. As for Tri, they will take on Blue River Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
