Baseball Recap: Pebblebrook Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Harrison, Pebblebrook was happy to have turned things around on Friday. Everything went their way against the Salem Seminoles as they made off with an 18-3 win. The victory was some much needed relief for the Falcons as it spelled an end to their eight-game losing streak.

David Figgs was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Pebblebrook is 3-1 when Figgs allows three or fewer hits, but 4-17 otherwise. Figgs was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Tyler Holmes and Damian (DJ) Phipps did most of the damage at the plate: Holmes got on base in three of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one triple, while Phipps went 1-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. That's the most runs Holmes has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Jadyn Marshall, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run.

Pebblebrook's win bumped their record up to 7-18. As for Salem, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-13.

As of now, neither Pebblebrook nor the Seminoles have any future games scheduled.
