Softball Recap: Papillion-LaVista Find Success

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Papillion-LaVista and Lincoln North Star meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Monarchs came out on top against the Navigators by a score of 7-3. The win continues a trend for the Monarchs in their matchups with the Navigators: they've now won three in a row.

Addalynne Bergren looked comfortable as she pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Alexa Taylor was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Allison Dibelka, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Papillion-LaVista now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Lincoln North Star, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Papillion-LaVista is set to take on their familiar foe Elkhorn South at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Lincoln North Star will challenge rival Lincoln High at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
