Soccer Recap: Lanier County Takes a Loss

Lanier County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Atkinson County Rebels, falling 10-0. That's two games in a row now that the Bulldogs have lost by exactly ten goals.

Lanier County's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Atkinson County, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 8-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lanier County will face off against Echols County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lanier County has given up an average of 7.1 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week. As for Atkinson County, they will square off against Brooks County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Brooks County is on a five-game streak of home wins, Atkinson County a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the pitch.
