Baseball Recap: Buchholz Picks Up 21st Straight Win at Home

With a playoff win on the line, Buchholz rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They walked away with a 5-1 win over the First Coast Buccaneers. The victory was familiar territory for the Bobcats, who have now won six games in a row.

Buchholz's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was JJ Gardner, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. Kai So was another, going 2-for-3 with one double.

Buchholz pushed their record up to 27-1 with the victory, which was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for First Coast, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 17-10 record.
