Upon arrival, MaxPreps and Staff Sergeant Louie Martinez of the California Army National Guard were greeted by the BOHS ASB president and vice president. The national ranking trophy presentation took place during a lunch assembly in the quad at 12 p.m. with approximately 1,500 students, administration and community member in attendance. Head coach Jeff Sink and the team showed great appreciation for the recognition as they stood proudly before the crowd.
The Brea Olinda cheerleaders put on an impressive stunt performance to kick off the celebration before the school’s ASB president welcomed the crowd and introduced MaxPreps representative Josh Canales. Canales first congratulated the Lady Cats on their successful season and then spoke about the significance of the prestigious Army National Guard national ranking trophy along with the great work MaxPreps has done to emphasize and promote high school athletics.
Next, SSG Martinez was announced to present the Minuteman trophy along with the nationally ranked rafter banner, which displays MaxPreps and the California Army National Guard's recognition of Brea Olinda's nationally ranked season. After greeting the crowd, he commended the team for its season accomplishments and invited forward Coach Sink. Coach Sink was very gracious as he thanked SSG Martinez and MaxPreps for the prestigious award and national recognition.
Congratulations to Coach Sink and the Brea Olinda Lady Wildcats on a great season and high national ranking!
