Basketball Recap: Santa Fe Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Roxy Beltran and Abigail Cetina

Santa Fe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 43-40 heartbreaker at the hands of the La Serna Lancers. The Chiefs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lancers earlier this season, when they won 49-43.

Santa Fe's loss came despite strong showings from Abigail Cetina and Roxy Beltran. Cetina dropped a double-double on ten points and 20 rebounds, while Beltran posted ten points and six steals. Beltran has been hot for a while, having posted three or more steals the last 12 times she's played.

Even though they lost, Santa Fe smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 12 consecutive contests.

Santa Fe's record now sits at 20-5. As for La Serna, they pushed their record up to 18-10 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

As of now, neither Santa Fe nor La Serna have any future games scheduled.
