Football Game Preview: Santa Fe Demons vs. Los Lunas Tigers + How To Watch

Santa Fe hasn't had much luck against Los Lunas recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Demons will square off against the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Los Lunas took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Santa Fe, who comes in off a win.

On Saturday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Santa Fe beat Atrisco Heritage Academy 27-22.

Meanwhile, Los Lunas faced La Cueva in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Tigers lost 54-29 to the Bears. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Bears recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Santa Fe will have to contain Luke Cieremans as he made an impact in Los Lunas' last game. He rushed for 80 yards and one score on only eight carries, and also threw for 145 yards and one touchdown. Martin Cordova helped out on the ground, rushing for 81 yards.

Even if they lost, Los Lunas' defensive line still kept up the pressure with five sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Eric Pedro and Brad Mallory, who racked up four sacks between them. Mallory is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made seven or more in each of the last ten games he's played dating back to last season.

Los Lunas' loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-3. As for Santa Fe, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Santa Fe took a serious blow against Los Lunas in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, falling 46-0. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Tigers' Kaiden Reese, who rushed for 113 yards and one TD on only six carries, and also threw for 95 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
