Preview: Oxnard Yellowjackets vs. San Dimas Saints

Two dominant forwards in Mikayla Oliver and Kamora Fletcher are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Oxnard Yellowjackets will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against the San Dimas Saints at 6:00 p.m. on February 10th. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Oxnard had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 75-63 win over Village Christian on Thursday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

Meanwhile, San Dimas entered their tilt with La Salle with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. San Dimas slipped by La Salle 44-43 on Thursday. The victory was all the more spectacular given San Dimas' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 151st, while La Salle is ranked 35th).

San Dimas' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Fletcher, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaelyn Ramos, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Oxnard has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 23-6 record this season. As for San Dimas, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-8.
