Softball Recap: Northridge's Run of Four Straight Victories Now Over

Northridge dropped down to 13-9 on Tuesday, ending the team's four-game streak of wins. They lost 15-2 to the Roosevelt Roughriders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Roughriders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-5 back in September.

Bo Tellez made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played.

As for Roosevelt, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-7. Considering they have won ten contests by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

On Roosevelt's side, Lexi Arave looked comfortable as she pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Molly Vetter, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Wiese, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Looking ahead, Northridge will be playing in front of their home fans against Brush at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Beetdiggers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last. As for Roosevelt, they will head out to square off against Greeley West at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Roughriders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Spartans have averaged an impressive 9.9 runs per game this season.
