Soccer Game Preview: El Diamante vs. Porterville

The El Diamante Miners will venture away from home to take on the Porterville Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. El Diamante will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more goals each game than the last.

El Diamante is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They blew past Mt. Whitney 9-0 on Wednesday. The Miners might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by three goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Porterville was not quite Golden West's equal in the second half on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Trailblazers by a score of 1-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Trailblazers: they've now lost three in a row.

El Diamante has been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-9-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up five goals over those 15 games. As for Porterville, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7-4.

El Diamante took their win against Porterville in their previous meeting two weeks ago by a conclusive 3-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for El Diamante since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
