Softball Recap: Pauls Valley Drops Season-High Score on Velma-Alma

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pauls Valley). They put the hurt on the Velma-Alma Comets with a sharp 12-2 win on Thursday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Pauls Valley has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-9 record this season. As for Velma-Alma, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Coincidentally, Pauls Valley and Velma-Alma will both be playing Cordell the next time they take the field. The Comets will head out to face the Blue Devils at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, while the Panthers will play them later in the day, at 12:30 p.m.
