Baseball Recap: Kaiser Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Kaiser extended their postseason success on Friday against Santa Barbara. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Dons a 7-0 shutout. Winning may never get old, but the Cats sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Not much got past Zeke Isaak Cortez, who gave up just three hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Santa Barbara off the board.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Caleb Inzunza, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alberto Arteaga, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Kaiser always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .519. They are 7-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Kaiser's record now sits at 18-13. As for Santa Barbara, they moved to 16-15 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Coming up, Kaiser will square off against Irvine at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The last five games the Vaqueros have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. Santa Barbara does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
