Football Recap: John Paul II Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against St. Paul, John Paul II was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Somerset Academy Collegiate Bears by a score of 61-50. Considering the Centurions' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

John Paul II's defensive line made their presence known, laying out the QB five times. Kenny Perez was especially locked on to Somerset Academy Collegiate's QB and sacked him three times.

John Paul II's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Somerset Academy Collegiate, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Coming up, John Paul II will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Incarnate Word Academy at 7:00 p.m. The Centurions will need to watch out since the Angels have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Somerset Academy Collegiate, they will head out on the road to face off against Sabinal at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
