Basketball Game Preview: Tamalpais Red Tailed Hawks vs. Redwood Giants

Tamalpais hasn't had much luck against Redwood recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Tamalpais Red Tailed Hawks are taking a road trip to face off against the Redwood Giants at 6:00 p.m. Tamalpais has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Tamalpais is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past San Rafael, posting a 76-48 win. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Meanwhile, Redwood came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 37 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 54-42 win over the Mustangs.

Redwood pushed their record up to 15-8 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.1 points per game. As for Tamalpais, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-10 record this season.

Tamalpais ended up a good deal behind Redwood when the teams last played back in January of 2024, losing 49-35. Can Tamalpais avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
