Basketball Recap: Kane's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

It was a good run, but Kane unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 50-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cranberry Area Berries.

Despite the loss, Kane saw an underclassman step up: freshman Addison Haight went 5 for 10 en route to 15 points in addition to seven boards and five steals. Haight's morning made it 13 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Alexa Olmstead, who posted 13 points.

Kane's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Cranberry Area, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-3.

Kane and Cranberry Area should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. Kane (ranked 253rd) will meet Curwensville (ranked 659th) at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Cranberry Area will challenge Union at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday up 449 places (215 vs. 664).
